Our Fall 2018 Conference will be in Attleboro, MA, from October 1-4. The conference theme, Changing Aging, is inspired by the book What Are Old People For: How Elders Will Save the World, by William H. Thomas, MD. The keynote speaker will be Kyrié Carpenter, who works at Eden Alternative, an international nonprofit founded by Dr. Thomas and dedicated to creating quality of life for elders. (See more about Kyrié and the program below.)
We will meet at La Salette Retreat Center. There will be a variety of workshops, worship services, trips in the area, and plenty of time to reconnect with old friends and to make new ones. The cost, including three nights lodging, meals, snacks and beverages, and the program is $295 per person. The cost for commuters who don’t stay on site is $165 per person, and this year there is an option to park an RV on site with electric and water hookups, with up to 10 places available. The cost for RVers is $175 per person. Scholarships are available (see registration form for info).

Kyrié Carpenter
More about the presenter and program: Kyrié Carpenter lectures around the country. Her joie de vie and curiosity are infectious. She has a passion for story — from myths and fairy tales to the ones we each could write every day. The love of story led her to study integral coaching and depth psychology. “Psychology” means “the study of the soul,” and for Kyrié this means finding and tending to the soulful in everyday life. She advocates for a graceful aging ideology and views crises as opportunities to embrace who we innately are. She believes that the aging process facilitates personal development. Each household who registers will receive a copy of Dr. Thomas’ book before the conference. Attendees are encouraged to read the book before the conference and come with questions, comments, and stories out of your own life experience.
