Spring 2017 Conference in Santa Barbara

FEBRUARY 27 – MARCH 1, 2017

The 2017 conference in Santa Barbara has moved from eager anticipation to fond memory. We gathered at the La Casa de Maria Retreat Center to connect with each other, worship together, hear John Buehrens’ keynote and workshop on “Spiritual Friendship” among transcendentalists and Tom and Carolyn Owen-Towle deliver their odysseys. A highlight was the service of remembrance for members who have died since last February. There were other workshops, updates from the UUMA and the UUA, and barely enough time to hang out together in this lovely setting. They keynote was recorded and will be linked from this page when it is available. Many thanks to the conference planning team: Jay Atkinson, Jim Eller, Mary Kay Hamilton, Anne Hines, John Manwell, Betty Stapleford, and Lois Wesener.

The winter/spring 2018 Conference is being planned for Florida just after the UUMA Institute. We expect to return to Santa Barbara in 2019. Watch for details on the website and in Elderberries.
