The Rev. John Branch Isom, 94, died April 23, 2004 following complications from surgery for a broken hip. He served congregations in Louisville, KY; Wichita, KS; and Des Moines, IA; and as an US Army chaplain during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elien Newsome Isom; two daughters, Rose E. Bowser; Mary Elizabeth Isom; two granddaughters; and a sister Annabelle Garrison.
